Luis López accused Jennifer Leiva of breach of duties and abandonment of a person followed by death.

The father of Ángel Nicolás López, the 4-year-old boy murdered in Comodoro Rivadavia, filed a criminal complaint against Jennifer Grisel Leiva, one of the psychologists who intervened in the reports used by the Justice to take away the father's possession and hand it over to the child's biological mother.

Luis López made the presentation together with his lawyer Roberto Castillo. The complaint targets Leiva, a member of the Comodoro Rivadavia Rights Protection Service, for the alleged crimes of non-performance of the duties of a public official and abandonment of a person followed

by death. The mother and her partner face preventive detention charged with the homicide.
The professional was one of those responsible for preparing technical reports that, according to the prosecution, were central to Judge Pablo José Pérez's decision to hand over the child to his biological mother, Mariela Altamirano, and to his partner, Maicol González.

Both are under arrest for the crime of Ángel.

Castillo was forceful after constituting himself as a plaintiff in the case. He stated that they reported Leiva because, according to his position, he played a major role in the death of the minor. The lawyer argued that the reports lacked the minimum rigor required in a case where the life of a child as young as four was at stake

According to the complaint, the evaluations were carried out through desk interviews, without a real observation of the family environment or the intra-family dynamic in which Ángel was going to stay. For this reason, the complaint requested the appointment of an independent forensic psychologist expert to audit Leiva's work and review the performance of

the technical team.

The case also exposes a brutal flaw in the child protection system. According to Castillo, this was not a simple diagnostic error, but rather a mode of intervention supported by the management of the Rights Protection Service. In this context, he announced that they will later request impeachment against Judge Pablo José Pérez

The Professional Association of Psychologists of Chubut tried to defend the feminist psychologist.

Leiva had previously been denounced by the Más Vida Foundation, which maintained that her reports would have been decisive for the Justice to send the minor with Altamirano. The organization also took aim at Vanesa Marín and assured that both had information necessary to protect Ángel, but they would have acted in

the opposite direction.

Ángel died as a result of 22 internal blows. His murder revealed a chain of institutional decisions that today is under scrutiny: technical reports, state interventions, history of violence and warnings that, according to the complaint, were not taken with the seriousness required by the

case.
