After scoring his first point for Alpine in the Chinese Grand Prix, Franco Colapinto arrives with confidence at the Japanese Grand Prix. After his tenth place in Shanghai, the Argentine driver reviewed what happened in the second race of the year and aimed to sustain the team's evolution in a new round of the calendar, which will mark his debut on the

Suzuka circuit.

“On reflection, I left Shanghai happy with my first point for the team, especially after some very exciting on-track battles during the race. It was a shame, however, to not have achieved even more, since the potential was there, but several things in the race did not work out in our favor,” he analyzed in a press release from

the French team.

The Pilarense also valued the team's growth at the start of the season. “I'm really impressed with the improvements the team made at the start of the season, with the difference between Melbourne and Shanghai being very clear. I was at Enstone last week, spending time with the team and in the simulator. It was great to share this result with them, especially after so much hard work over the past few months,” he said.

Facing the challenge in Japan, Colapinto was excited to compete for the first time on that stage. “We have already demonstrated what we are capable of and now we aim to build on this for Suzuka this weekend, which will be another new challenge. I'm really excited to race in Japan for the first time in my career; it's an incredible country and I can't wait to experience the weekend at this famous circuit,” he said

.

At the same time, he anticipated that it will not be an easy weekend and that the team will have to continue to adjust the car's performance. “If the first races of the year serve as a reference, we'll have to work very hard to adjust the car. I am looking forward to it and am ready to build on the previous good result before the short break next month,” he concluded

the points zone.
