The communist president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, tried to criticize President Javier Milei regarding the consumption of beef in Argentina, but ended up being humiliated by the network users themselves.
It all started after Milei published a message about the financial crisis in New York and to the Muslim communist mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom he described as responsible for an economic collapse after having previously warned of its consequences.
Mamdani recently announced that the city is facing a historic financial crisis, stating that it is “bankrupt” due to a massive deficit.
The local administration warned of possible drastic cuts in public services and education in the face of the fall in tax revenues.
Javier Milei and Zohran Mamdani.
The mayor himself described the situation as a “historic” deficit, pointing out that the city cannot cover its current obligations with savings alone, which would force it to apply austerity measures
and seek new revenues.
In this context, Milei posted a message on social networks in which she recalled her previous warnings: “I remember that when this left-handed man won I anticipated the disaster it would cause. It is more to remember that in TN they brought a left-handed man with curlers who defended him with passion. The psychologist and his left-handed henchmen sided with the left-handed person. Here's the result. ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. HELLO! ”.
The attack by Petro
El Cruce escalated when the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, decided to intervene with a comment addressed to Milei: “Brother Milei, I ask you not to break up Argentina. More fine beef for Argentines.”
However, Petro's response generated a rapid reaction on social networks, where users began to disseminate comparative data on beef consumption between the two countries. The figures showed a strong difference in favor of Argentina
. Javier Milei and Gustavo Petro.
According to the most recent data, Argentina remains the country with the highest consumption of beef per capita worldwide, with estimates for 2025 ranging from 46 to49.9
kilos per person per year.
In contrast, Colombia has a significantly lower consumption, with approximately 18.4 kilos per person per year, even lagging behind the consumption of chicken in that country.
Petro's message, denied by the data, comes in a context of strong operations and fake news against the Milei Government, which they blame for supposedly generating a drastic drop in beef consumption, something that is totally false, as demonstrated by official data.
In this context, the exchange between the two leaders ended with a strong network reaction that questioned Petro's false criticism and supported the position of the Argentine president, highlighting data that position Argentina as a global reference in beef consumption.
