The changes in the creative team
According to Variety, one of the main new features for the second season will be the addition of Jon Brown as co-showrunner with
Francesca Gardiner.
The young man was already working on the first season based on The Philosopher's Stone, but will now play a more important role in the creative structure of the series. Both have previously shared projects in Succession, where they participated as screenwriters
and producers.
Francesca Gardiner explained that the decision mainly responds to the need to maintain a constant production rate between seasons. “Our goal is not to have a huge break between seasons, especially since children are growing up,” he said.
In addition, he publicly praised his new creative partner. “Not only do I have enormous admiration for his writing, but he's also a brilliant collaborator and a lovely person,” he said.
For his part, Jon Brown celebrated his continuity within the project with a direct reference to the magical universe. “It seems that you are never too old to receive your invitation to Hogwarts,” he joked
