The future of Julián Álvarez has once again taken center stage at Atlético de Madrid. The Argentine forward returned to the Spanish team's activities this Monday after more than a month away from the squad, although his return was far from calm.
According to information published in Spain, the intention of the “Spider” was to have a direct conversation with Diego Simeone and Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, the CEO of Atlético, to once again express his desire to change clubs and find a solution to the situation he is going through.
Julián Álvarez was unable to meet with Simeone and Gil Marín
The meeting that the forward was hoping to have ultimately did not take place. Neither of the two main figures he intended to speak with were at the Ciudad Deportiva.
Simeone was out of Madrid and did not participate in training, while Gil Marín also did not appear during the day. The absence of both would have caused discomfort for the player, who was looking to make progress on a decision about his future.
