The Iranian regime has once again heightened tensions in the Middle East after being accused by Bahrain of launching a drone attack against its territory, an action that, according to the Gulf kingdom's government, violates its national sovereignty, breaches the memorandum of understanding signed between Tehran and the United States to end hostilities, and threatens to destabilize one of the world's most sensitive regions once again.
In an official statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that several Iranian drones entered its territory and described the offensive as a ''flagrant violation'' of the country's sovereignty, in addition to representing a serious threat to the safety of its citizens and residents.
The authorities pointed out that the attack constitutes a clear violation of international norms that prohibit aggression against civilian targets and denounced that the action jeopardizes the diplomatic efforts made in recent weeks to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The Bahraini government directly blamed the Iranian regime for the deterioration of the situation and stated that Tehran is undermining the agreements reached just days ago. It also asserted that peace cannot be built through acts of intimidation or military attacks against sovereign states.
In this context, Manama reiterated that it will exercise its legitimate right to protect its security and stability in accordance with international law and urged the United Nations Security Council to intervene to hold the Iranian regime accountable for the new aggression.
The authorities recalled that Iran had committed to permanently cease military operations and respect the sovereignty of neighboring countries through the memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 in Islamabad with the United States. However, they denounced that the recent attack demonstrates a direct breach of that agreement and casts doubt on Tehran's willingness to uphold its international commitments.
While Bahrain denounced the drone incursion over its territory, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed it had launched a military operation, although it claimed that its targets were U.S. bases located near the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian authorities did not specify the exact location of those supposed military targets.
