It's official: the Argentine National Team will face Guatemala in La Bombonera

After the cancellation of the Grand Final against Spain, the Argentine National Team reorganized its schedule and confirmed a friendly match against Guatemala for next Tuesday, 31. of March. After a few hours of uncertainty, the stadium that will host the match was finally confirmed: La Bombonera

.

The venue's decision responded to the impossibility of using the Monumental Stadium, which will be occupied by a series of AC/DC recitals during those days. Faced with this scenario, the AFA quickly managed the change and agreed with Boca to use its stadium. “Confirmed Stadium” was the message released by the official account of the National Team, accompanied by an image of Lionel Messi and the Xeneize house

.

The match will be Albiceleste's only match on the FIFA date in March. The plan of the coaching staff led by Lionel Scaloni is to train throughout the week at the Ezeiza stadium and then play this match to maintain the pace of competition before the World Cup

.

In that sense, the friendly match will also have a symbolic value, since it will be the team's last performance in the country before leaving for the World Cup. Then, the squad will meet again only in June, when two other friendly matches are planned in the United States.

For the more affluent, the choice of the Bombonera refers to a close precedent. In that stadium, the last match was played on national soil before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, when Argentina thrashed Venezuela 3-0

.

Without the Grand Final on the horizon, the match against Guatemala is presented as the last test to adjust details and say goodbye to the fans before facing the defense of the

world title.
