The Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni has been speaking in the lower house of Congress since 10:30am about the management advances achieved by the administration of President Javier Milei.
With a photo, the Government showed strong support for Adorni. Minutes before the chief minister presented his first management report to Congress, he posed with the entire Cabinet. Also in the image are President Javier Milei, the Secretary General of the Presidency, the libertarian senator Patricia Bullrich and
the advisor Santiago Caputo.
In his first words during the management report, Adorni highlighted the important achievements achieved by the administration of President Javier Milei and recalled once again the serious economic legacy that the current government received.
“This administration received a critical situation. If it wasn't addressed, poverty would have reached 90%,” said Adorni. The official emphasized that the government is very clear about the path that still needs to be taken and that, although the work is far from complete, the measures implemented are not yet fully reflected in people's daily lives due to “the coup operation that Kirchnerism mounted in the middle of the electoral campaign
”.
In addition, he accused the opposition of having “operated financially millimetrically
” against the libertarian administration.
Before receiving new applause, Adorni firmly stated: “Our north is non-negotiable. We experienced the worst part of the storm. Inflation will continue its downward path, economic activity is recovering.”
Record fiscal adjustment
The chief minister asserted: “Every cut in the State is more prosperity for Argentines, every peso that the public sector stops spending, is a burden that returns to the
private sector.”
“Before, Argentines financed festivals and social plans, and today the state performs its elementary functions, we have eliminated: 9 ministries, 100 secretaries, 25 organizations and 65,000 militant positions.” This resulted in “savings of 2 billion USD without affecting services”.
Fall in
inflation Adorni criticized the opposition and praised Economy Minister Luis “Toto
” Caputo.
However, he admitted a “bad” inflation figure, referring to the March record, which was 3.4%
.
“While in 2023 annual inflation stood at 21.4%, in 2025 it stood at 31.5%. Its lowest level in 7 years,” he shot up
.
“The inflation figure was bad, we didn't like it and we recognize it. Despite this turbulence generated by Kirchnerism, prebendary businessmen and some media, the BCRA continues to buy reserves and the dollar remains stable without the need to resort to a restriction on the purchase of foreign exchange. Argentina was far away from the stocks and the 20 exchange rates.”
Stabilization of the Argentine peso
“Argentina is far from stocks, volatility and 20 exchange rates: official dollar, blue, savings, solidarity, card, Qatar, MEP, CCL, soybeans 1, 2, 3 and 4, agriculture, cheese, dead cow, mining, luxury, tourism, tech, importer, credit, crypto and Coldplay. What a delusion!” , he ruled
.
Attacks on fiscal order in 2025
Adorni targeted the opposition and defended the fiscal rule promoted by the government: “The coup operation they carried out in the middle of the electoral campaign... they dedicated themselves to passing laws with the sole purpose of breaking the fiscal balance, orchestrated millimetrically by Kirchnerism.
”
He also highlighted the approval of the budget and said: “We managed to approve the first budget with fiscal rule. If we collect more, we lower taxes. This is a change of era that we Argentines are experiencing.”
Historic ruling on YPF The chief of ministers celebrated the work of the Milei government officials who achieved the historic
reversal of the ruling in the US Justice for the payment of 18 billion dollars, which originated after the disastrous Kirchnerist expropriation of
YPF.
“The reversed ruling was the largest in history against a sovereign state in the United States, the second in all jurisdictions, and the fifth largest considering litigation against private individuals. My congratulations to the Legal and Technical Secretariat, led by María Ibarzabal, to the Treasury Office, with Sebastián Amerio at the head, to Pablo Quirno, to Toto Caputo and to the entire team
that worked for more than two years.”
Fight against poverty managers In his presentation, he praised the management of the Minister of
Human Capital Sandra Pettovello and harshly questioned Kirchnerism for the management of social policy: “Sandra Pettovello eradicated managers from poverty. In the previous administration, these managers held public office. In our government, all they can hope for is to march on the sidewalk
.”
“Since there is no longer intermediation by poverty managers, for the first time in 30 years there are no more pickets in Argentina. In contrast, in 2023 there were 8239 street cuts. Today, thousands of Argentines are going to work without any criminal interrupting their path
.”
Macroeconomic Order
The Chief of Staff celebrated the
macroeconomic order
achieved through the fiscal surplus achieved by the Milei Government.
“Because we did our homework, we've been through the worst part of the storm. Inflation will continue its downward path and economic activity will improve. For the first time in 124 years, Argentina had a fiscal surplus free of default in two consecutive years... We are attacking the biggest problem the nation has ever had.”
In this context, he congratulated Minister Luis Caputo for steering the country's direction and avoiding the imminent economic catastrophe inherited by Kirchnerism.
