During her speech, Milei also thanked the invitation and the reception in the country. “I would like to thank President Herzog, my dearest friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Knesset President Amir Ohana, and all the authorities present for inviting me to this important event. Also to the people of Israel for making me feel so welcome,” he said

.

The president highlighted the symbolic meaning of his participation in the torch ceremony. “I am deeply grateful to be able to light one of the 12 torches that represent the tribes of the people of Israel, and even more special that it is the last one, the most important of all, since it closes the cycle and encompasses them all, testifying to the unbreakable unity of the Jewish people,” he said

In another part of his speech, he referred to historical and cultural values, mentioning both Jewish tradition and figures from Argentine history. “As Hanukkah teaches us, light always triumphs over darkness, and I want to bring a teaching from General San Martín, father of Argentine independence. He said: 'let's be free, the rest doesn't matter, '” he said.

In addition, he reiterated his government's position regarding Argentine diplomatic representation. “Today, from Mount Herzl, this sacred place in the holy city of Jerusalem, I want to reiterate our willingness to move the Argentine Embassy to Jerusalem, the spiritual capital of this nation, as soon as conditions permit,” he

said.
