A new terrorist attack shook the West Bank this weekend after a Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into several Israeli pedestrians at the Gush Etzion junction, a strategic area located between Bethlehem and Hebron. The attack left at least four people injured, two of them in serious condition, according to Israeli emergency services.
According to authorities, the 30-year-old attacker accelerated his vehicle towards a group of young people in the area. Among the victims are two minors. A 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries to her limbs and was urgently transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, while another 15-year-old girl was injured in the face.

The assailant was shot dead just seconds later by an Israeli soldier who was nearby. Security forces deployed a large operation in the area to rule out the involvement of other potential attackers and ensure the safety of residents.
The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Yaron Rosenthal, stated that the attacker deliberately tried to run over a group of young people and highlighted the quick response of the forces present. Israeli authorities later identified the assailant as a Palestinian man from Hebron.
The incident occurs amid escalating tensions and violence in the region. Since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas, Israeli security forces have increased operations in the West Bank in response to the rise in armed attacks, bombings, and clashes.

The Israeli government reiterated that it will maintain a firm response policy against any attack on civilians. Meanwhile, security forces continue to investigate possible links of the attacker to extremist organizations or support networks that may have facilitated the action.
The attack also reignites concerns about security in the West Bank, where Israeli authorities maintain that a constant threat of attacks against civilians and security personnel persists amid one of the most tense regional periods in recent years.
