The renowned British weekly The Economist highlighted La Derecha Diario as one of the central actors behind the electoral advance of right-wing candidates in Latin America. In an extensive report published on June 25, the outlet analyzed the regional political shift and placed LDD at the forefront of the new media competing for public discourse against the leftist apparatus.
Behind the phenomenon referred to by The Economist as “trumpification,” lies the loss of hegemony of traditional media and the return of Western values. The right managed to break the monopoly of major media and began to build an independent agenda, with identity, responsiveness, and communicational impact in countries where the left dominated the cultural battle for years.

In this context, The Economist stated that new media “also matter” and pointed directly to La Derecha Diario as one of the main protagonists of that ecosystem. The report mentions Javier Negre, the owner of the outlet, highlighting his presence within the White House press group and his closeness to the international conservative movement.
According to the British publication, Negre explained that Donald Trump paved the way for many Latin American candidates who lacked the support of traditional media, by expanding spaces previously reserved for dominant press and giving greater visibility to alternative voices. He also stated that La Derecha Diario helps candidates convey their message without fake news and agenda conditioning.
