Morena Rial is at the center of controversy and under the scrutiny of the justice system. After being detained at the end of 2024 for a case involving theft at cell phone stores, the young woman could face a harsh sentence: up to six years of actual imprisonment.
The incident that marked the beginning of the process occurred last December. According to the case file, Morena allegedly took part in three episodes on different dates: the 15th, 19th, and 22nd, at at least two stores specializing in high-end cell phones.
According to the complaint and security camera footage, Jorge Rial's daughter allegedly acted together with other individuals, taking advantage of moments when the salespeople were distracted to steal state-of-the-art phones.

Attorney Carlos Nayi, legal representative of one of the victims, provided details about the possible sentence the young woman could receive if found guilty. "The Penal Code has been in effect for more than 100 years. If she is convicted for this incident, and only for this incident, the sentence could be six years of actual imprisonment," he explained in statements to the press.
Additionally, Nayi warned that Morena's situation could become even more complicated if it is confirmed that the crimes were committed in real concurrence. This means that if she is tried for theft, damage, and threats—three different crimes—the sentences could accumulate and result in an even longer sentence.

Although Morena was released after her detention, the case is moving forward and the evidence against her appears to be compelling. "If she were not the mother of such a young baby, she would almost certainly be inside," sources close to the investigation stated, making it clear that her motherhood was a factor that weighed in the decision to grant her release.
