Adrián Suar sorprendió al recordar una anécdota poco conocida de su historia con Mario Pergolini
The origin of the conflict between Suar and Pergolini
The fight dates back to 2002, when Suar had just taken over as Programming Manager at El Trece. One of his first decisions was to move the historic Caiga Quien Caiga (CQC) from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
Pergolini admitted that at that time the decision bothered him. "We were doing very well on Tuesdays and this gentleman shows up, young, with his style, and changes my day," he recalled, laughing.
"I don't give a damn": the phrase that ignited the argument
In the middle of the conversation, Suar explained what the face-to-face in his office was like. According to his account, he tried to explain that the change was not against him, but Pergolini would not accept it: "Tuesday is a classic," he told him.
The atmosphere became tense when Pergolini launched a blunt "I don't give a damn". At that moment, both stood up and the situation almost ended in a fistfight. "I was thinking: this is getting out of hand," Suar recalled, laughing.
The explosive end of the fight
In the end, the argument did not escalate, although Pergolini said goodbye with one last defiant gesture. "When he left my office, he told my secretary: 'Tell your boss he's an idiot,'" Suar revealed.
La discusión no pasó a mayores
Today, more than two decades later, both maintain a good relationship and can look back with humor on a confrontation that marked an era in television.
