After being privatized by Milei, Impsa announced its first major investment in Mendoza.

ARC Energy has ambitious plans to boost the development of energy infrastructure in Argentina

Impsa, the Argentine metalworking company, announced its first major investment following its recent privatization process carried out by the Government of Javier Milei.

The company plans to build a new industrial plant in Mendoza with the purpose of manufacturing specialized equipment for the oil and gas sector, with a particular focus on Vaca Muerta.

The announcement was made by Jason Arceneaux, president of ARC Energy, the firm that acquired Impsa in February of this year after an extensive bidding process. The construction of this new facility represents a milestone in the company's growth strategy within the regional energy sector.

The land where the plant will be built is located in Carril Rodríguez Peña, Mendoza. From this point, Impsa seeks to establish itself as a key technology provider for the oil industry, through a joint investment between ARC Energy and IMPSA, which will also strengthen the company's Technology Development Center.

Currently, the company is already involved in significant projects for the sector, such as the manufacturing of a special 178-ton furnace for YPF, designed for the conversion of oil into diesel. With this new capital injection, Impsa aims to expand its production capacity and establish itself as an essential player in the development of energy infrastructure in Argentina.

Arceneaux emphasized the strategic value of this investment to strengthen Impsa's presence in Latin America. "The company's potential as a strategic supplier in the Oil & Gas sector is invaluable across the continent. This strategic alliance will be a catalyst for ARC Energy's growth in Argentina and throughout the region," he noted.

Other projects

Besides the oil and gas sector, ARC Energy has ambitious plans to boost other business areas of Impsa, particularly in the hydroelectric field. The company is one of the leading manufacturers of hydroelectric turbines globally and seeks to reactivate projects in different countries.

Among the short-term goals is the resumption of contracts for the installation of turbines at the Tocoma dam in Venezuela, as well as the evaluation of opportunities in the Argentine market. According to Arceneaux, there are at least ten projects in the process of renewal that could benefit from IMPSA's expertise in this area.

The nuclear sector is also part of ARC Energy's strategy. The executive highlighted the push that governments like Javier Milei's in Argentina and Donald Trump's in the United States are giving to this energy source. "Nuclear energy is one of the most efficient and sustainable alternatives as a base energy," he stated.

Another key project of ARC Energy is the manufacturing of port cranes in Argentina, intended to be exported to the west coast of the United States and El Salvador. The goal is to reduce dependence on crane imports from China, betting on national production that will cover 60% of the total before final assembly at the destination.

The investment in the new industrial plant in Mendoza represents a milestone in ARC Energy's strategy to consolidate Impsa within the energy sector. The company seeks to establish itself as a reference in the provision of equipment for oil and gas, while expanding its presence in the hydroelectric, nuclear, and port logistics areas.

With this announcement, Impsa reaffirms its commitment to innovation and technological development in Argentina. The focus on Vaca Muerta and the expansion of the regional energy industry are emerging as essential pillars for its growth.

In addition to enhancing production capacity, the construction of the new plant will generate employment and open new opportunities for the metalworking sector in Mendoza.
