The Spanish airline Iberia could resume operations on the route between Córdoba and Madrid after more than 10 years.
This is a route that Iberia abandoned in 2012, after entering into an agreement with British Airways, and that another airline such as Air Europa is currently operating.
This is, in addition to the positioning of Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport in Córdoba, as an international hub and gateway to Argentina.
Flybondi is also adding the Córdoba–Asunción del Paraguay flight starting in December.
This also speaks to the seriousness of President Javier Milei's administration after years of populism that caused distrust among multiple international companies.
Traffic on the Córdoba–Madrid route
The numbers show that the traffic passing through the province and heading to Spain, as well as the Caribbean and Brazil, is extremely significant.
Meanwhile, Iberia announced an increase in its operations between Buenos Aires and Madrid that will set a historic record for the company.
This has fueled strong rumors about the return of the Córdoba–Madrid route.
Upon the 80th anniversary of its route between Argentina and Europe, Iberia will offer up to 23 weekly frequencies to Ezeiza during the months of June, July, and August 2026.
This increase means that, for the first time, a destination in the Spanish airline's long-haul network will exceed three daily flights.
