After the attack he suffered, President Milei spoke before business leaders at CICyP.
The president reported that the 'Círculo Rojo' and the 'casta' are promoting smear campaigns against him
After the assassination attempt by Kirchnerist terrorists that took place yesterday, President Javier Milei delivered a speech at the Inter-American Council for Trade and Production (CICyP), a forum that brings together political leaders and the country's most influential businesspeople.
At the event, the president referred to the attack he suffered and targeted the so-called "Red Circle," which he accused of promoting, together with the "casta," various smear campaigns against him.
"Yesterday, a violent group broke in by force and started throwing stones at us. As everyone also knows, this happened in the midst of a context of crude defamatory operations," the president stated.
"When we entered politics, we knew this was going to be difficult because the casta has been entrenched in the State for decades and they're going to do whatever it takes to defend their privileges. We knew the powerful weren't going to give up and, together with the Red Circle, they'd devote themselves to slandering, defaming, and libeling us," he warned.
In this context, the president once again questioned the corruption allegations that arose from the audios attributed to Diego Spagnuolo. "When we launched our campaign, they invented wild stories about selling candidacies, that we were going to allow the sale of organs, that we'd let children buy weapons online. How many of the many atrocities they mentioned, like incest, like zoophilia? They got tired of saying all kinds of nonsense," he stated.
He added: "This week's smear campaign is nothing more than another item in the long list of the casta's schemes and, just like all the previous ones, a new lie. As in all other cases, it will be up to the courts to clarify it and we are once again at their disposal. We hope everything is clarified as soon as possible."
Milei also criticized the use of judicial time: "We regret that judges have to waste their time on the tricks of the most outdated politics instead of being able to focus on pursuing crime. This type of action faithfully reflects the behavior of the casta, manifested in a new attack to stop the process of change the country is undergoing."
"Since people voted for a government that came to end all their scams and privileges, their response is to generate panic and chaos among the people, infiltrate, slander, and carry out any other maneuver that hinders the process of change we're carrying out," the president concluded.
