In an interview with the streaming platform Blender, the former Kirchnerist president Alberto Fernández analyzed the internal situation of Peronism and mentioned possible candidates to compete in the 2027 presidential elections.
In this context, he described Axel Kicillof as "a good governor" and "a very intelligent and well-prepared person," although he acknowledged that he is going through "a very difficult situation of adversity." He also spoke again about the case of violence and the scandals that surrounded him after leaving the Casa Rosada, leaving a country on the verge of the worst crisis in history.
When referring to the current state of Peronism after the defeat in the legislative elections in October, Fernández stated that the party's internal disputes go beyond personal differences among its leaders and that they generate consequences at the institutional level.
During the interview, the former president maintained that these political tensions could influence the actions of senators and deputies, something that, in his view, could affect governability in Buenos Aires Province.

This way, Fernández, currently under investigation for violence against his former partner Fabiola Yáñez and for alleged irregularities in the so-called "Seguros Case," linked the party's internal situation to the functioning of institutions and the stability of Kirchnerism in the country's main district.
He also strongly criticized the internal conflict Peronism is experiencing and how it negatively impacts Kicillof's aspirations for 2027. "What I can't forgive myself for is that we help the Government by making things more difficult for Axel," he said.
His words were directed squarely at the former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, with whom Kicillof keeps a strong dispute for the leadership of the movement. The main focus of the confrontation was the decision to split the Buenos Aires elections, in which Fuerza Patria achieved a resounding victory over La Libertad Avanza. Nevertheless, the national outlook was very different: Peronism ended up losing in the Province.
The "renewal" of Peronism
After Fuerza Patria's defeat and with an eye on reorganizing the movement ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, Alberto Fernández reviewed the possible Peronist leaders.
In that context, he included Sergio Massa, former Minister of Economy who left the country on the verge of hyperinflation, whom he described as "one of the people who knows the national State best." He also mentioned the former governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, highlighting that he "just had an extraordinary election," despite having lost.
He added to that group the former Minister of Justice Martín Soria and his sister, María Emilia Soria, current mayor of General Roca, Río Negro. Within his closest circle, he highlighted Gabriel Katopodis and Jorge Ferraresi, whom he described as "impressive officials" and stated that "they would be extraordinary presidents." About both, he added: "I always tell them to get out of there and go travel the country."

In another part of the interview with Blender, the former president referred to the complaint of violence filed by Fabiola Yáñez, his former partner. In that regard, he categorically denied having committed any kind of aggression and considered that in the conversations released between Yáñez and María Cantero "there is only one where that is discussed, never before or after."
He also clarified that the complaint refers to an event that supposedly would have occurred before August 12, 2021, when Yáñez tried to leave the Olivos Residence with her son Francisco. According to Fernández's version, at that time his former partner "was not even pregnant."
