President Javier Milei led a meeting on Tuesday with deputies and senators from La Libertad Avanza at the Casa Rosada, where he reaffirmed the government's economic direction and urged legislators to defend the official reforms against the criticisms from the operations of the opposition.

The meeting took place ahead of a key week in Congress, where the ruling party will seek to advance with projects considered priorities by the Executive Power, including the reform of the Organic Charter of the Central Bank and Fiscal Innocence II.

During a presentation that lasted nearly two hours, Milei emphasized the need to defend the ideas of freedom and avoid getting bogged down in populist arguments, while asserting that the fiscal and monetary policies implemented by his administration are consistent and must be maintained in the face of political and economic challenges.

According to reports from the meeting, the president delivered a strong rallying cry to the legislators: “Let’s not allow ourselves to be psychologized by the kukas and the journalists”.

One of the main topics was the discussion about delinquency in private credit, an issue that in recent weeks has been used by opposition sectors to question the economic situation.

Milei stated that these phenomena must be analyzed based on data and their particular causes, without automatically turning them into macroeconomic problems. In this context, he reiterated that the cyclical trend of activity has accumulated 27 consecutive months of growth.

The President also explained his concept of “repugnant markets”, which he uses to describe issues that can be politically exploited to divide society. He argued that the opposition's strategy consists of encapsulating certain segments of the electorate and turning specific situations in the economy or daily life into points of confrontation.

Additionally, Milei revisited several arguments he had developed during his recent presentations before the Council of the Americas and the Rosario Stock Exchange, where he defended the process of resource reallocation generated by the economic reforms.

The meeting was also attended by Karina Milei, Diego Santilli, Federico Sturzenegger, Juan Bautista Mahiques, Martín Menem, Patricia Bullrich, Gabriel Bornoroni, and other officials and parliamentary leaders from the ruling party.

Before concluding the meeting, Milei presented the legislators with a copy of “Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt, and recommended its reading to understand the effects of economic decisions beyond their immediate consequences.
