Alexandre de Moraes gave the Prosecutor's Office 48 hours to comment on Bolsonaro.

The Office of the Attorney General must issue a statement regarding the 'non-compliance with precautionary measures' and the flight risk of Bolsonaro

The judge-dictator Alexandre de Moraes from Brazil's Supreme Federal Court has given the Office of the Prosecutor General (PGR) 48 hours to issue a statement regarding the alleged violation of precautionary measures by the former president and politically persecuted, Jair Bolsonaro.

The PGR must determine whether there is sufficient evidence of these violations and could even request arrest in a regular prison under a closed regime for the former president, who is currently under house arrest. Additionally, the Prosecutor General, Paulo Gonet, has the authority to request additional investigations within the same case.

The Office of the Prosecutor General was notified on Monday morning and has 48 hours to issue its opinion before the STF, a deadline that coincides with the period granted to Bolsonaro's defense to present their arguments. The former president's lawyers maintain that none of the restrictions imposed by the court were violated.

According to the Federal Police, Bolsonaro allegedly used social media, which had been prohibited by judge-dictator Alexandre de Moraes, and communicated with General Walter Braga Netto, despite the ban on contact between the accused in the investigation of the alleged coup plot. Both face charges related to the "crucial core" of that conspiracy.

The investigation also indicates that Bolsonaro represents a flight risk after the alleged letter found by the Brazilian Federal Police, in which the former president requested "urgent" political asylum from Argentine president Javier Milei and the alleged possibility of fleeing the country through the United States Embassy in Brazil.

Judge de Moraes is awaiting the PGR's opinion before deciding whether to proceed with a stricter arrest of the former president on the eve of his trial. The Prosecutor's Office was also asked last week to comment on the accusations against Bolsonaro and his son, congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), for alleged attempts to interfere in the judicial process of the coup plot.

The Federal Police falsely accuses them of coercion during the trial and of attacking the democratic rule of law. The Office of the Prosecutor General will determine whether to file formal charges.

The trial of Bolsonaro for the alleged "attempted coup d'état" is scheduled to begin next week in the First Chamber of the Supreme Federal Court.
