Lula da Silva requested preventive detention of Jair Bolsonaro from the judiciary.

According to the left-wing dictator, the former president is allegedly devising a supposed 'escape plan.'

The leader of the Workers' Party in the Chamber of Deputies, Lindbergh Farias, who reports directly to dictator Lula da Silva, submitted a request for preventive detention against the former president and persecuted political figure Jair Bolsonaro this Friday.

During a press conference held in the Green Room of Congress, Farias falsely claimed that there is solid evidence that the former president is allegedly developing a supposed "escape plan" to evade trial in the Supreme Federal Court (STF), which is controlled by judges who are friends of dictator Lula da Silva.

According to the far-left lawmaker, Bolsonaro's movements, already recorded in Federal Police investigations, increase the risk that the former president will attempt to seek refuge in foreign embassies located in Brasília. Farias specifically mentioned the United States Embassy, located approximately 10 minutes from the former head of state's residence.

"Does anyone think this is a hypothetical risk? It is not. It is a real risk. Bolsonaro has already requested refuge in Argentina and spent two days in the Hungarian Embassy. Today, based on the information we have received, I can confirm that there is a plan underway for him to seek refuge in the United States Embassy. As a federal representative, I have a duty to alert the country and request his preventive detention," the deputy stated.

The request for preventive detention was also based on alleged violations of the authoritarian precautionary measures imposed on Bolsonaro. According to Lindbergh Farias, the former president allegedly maintained irregular contacts with allies under investigation and used unauthorized cell phones to "spread information" and "coordinate political actions."

"House arrest was useless. Bolsonaro continued to coordinate, encourage, and organize even from home. Therefore, this is not about taking sides, but about ensuring public order and the necessary calm for the trial," emphasized the PT leader, who seeks to imprison and ban Lula da Silva's main opponent.

Meanwhile, for Farias, a possible escape to diplomatic territory could jeopardize the entire process being carried out by the Supreme Court regarding the false coup of January 8 and other fabricated investigations against the former president.

"It would be a tragedy for democracy if, on the eve of the trial, Bolsonaro managed to take refuge in an embassy. This would frustrate not only justice, but also the Brazilian people's sense that, for the first time, those who have attacked democracy will be tried and convicted," Lindbergh declared.

The arrest warrant was accompanied by a request to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to freeze Bolsonaro's accounts. The congressman highlighted alleged "suspicious transactions" totaling more than R$44 million.
