The Argentina of Javier Milei has marked a milestone in its foreign policy by unequivocally aligning itself with the powers that combat international terrorism. This new direction, based on moral principles rather than ideological conveniences, was the central focus of the farewell reception offered by the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Saeed Abdulla Al Qemzi, at his residence in Buenos Aires. In front of a select audience of national authorities, the diplomat emphasized that the support of the Argentine Government was vital following the cowardly attacks perpetrated by the regime of Iran against Emirati territory.
The event was attended by key figures from the national cabinet such as Chancellor Pablo Quirno, Health Minister Mario Lugones, and Tourism Secretary Daniel Scioli. Additionally, the presence of the Ambassador of Israel in Argentina, Eyal Sela, along with representatives from the Armed Forces, deputies, and senators, underscored the consolidation of a new axis of civilized nations that do not yield to the blackmail of extremism.

During his speech, Al Qemzi was emphatic in valuing the stance taken by the La Libertad Avanza administration: “The Argentine Republic expressed a clear and highly valued position by condemning the Iranian terrorist attacks against the United Arab Emirates. These attacks constituted a direct violation of national sovereignty, a clear infringement of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a threat to the security and stability of the State, as well as to the safety of civilians, residents, and visitors in its territory.”
The magnitude of the Iranian aggression against the Emirati people, detailed by the diplomat, highlights the importance of the logistical and political support provided by President Milei. The ambassador specified shocking figures from the offensive: the air defenses of his country had to intercept 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,265 drones.
Despite the defensive effectiveness, extremist violence claimed the lives of 13 civilians and left 230 injured of various nationalities. “These treacherous terrorist attacks caused the death of our citizens and put everyday life in the United Arab Emirates at risk,” emphasized Al Qemzi, noting that Argentine support will not be forgotten.

Beyond cooperation in security matters, the ambassador's management —enhanced by the economic opening promoted by the current government— leaves a legacy of unprecedented prosperity. In his five years of mission, 36 bilateral agreements were signed, representing one-third of the diplomatic history between the two countries. The numerical achievements are compelling:
