Amid the rumors, Dibu Martínez addressed his possible departure from Aston Villa

The goalkeeper of the Argentina National Team could leave the Birmingham team in the next transfer window

The atmosphere within the Argentina National Team heated up with the arrival of the players drafted for the double round of World Cup Qualifiers, and one of the most anticipated was Emiliano Dibu Martínez. The Aston Villa goalkeeper, an undisputed figure in Lionel Scaloni's tenure, was asked about the rumors linking him to a possible club change.

True to his calm and focused style, Martínez did not avoid the question about his future, and although he did not provide any definitive answers, he made it clear what his current priority is. "I don't know, I come here to play with the National Team and that's the only thing that matters to me right now," he stated, indicating that his attention is focused exclusively on the matches against Chile and Colombia.

However, when asked by ESPN whether he is considering a change of direction in this transfer window, the world champion was more ambiguous:  "Um, well... the window just opened, there's still a long way to go," he hinted, leaving open the possibility of a transfer without confirming it.

The rumors surrounding the Mar del Plata-born goalkeeper are not insignificant. In recent weeks, his name has been linked to major European clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, and even a return to Arsenal, where he played before establishing himself in the Premier League with Aston Villa.

For now,  his future remains uncertain, although it is clear that his immediate present is focused on defending the Albiceleste goal.

When does the National Team play?

La Albiceleste is already preparing for a new FIFA date. Although its qualification is already mathematically secured, the team led by Lionel Scaloni will try to finish as high as possible ahead of the next World Cup.

In this June window, the reigning world champion will face Chile away on Thursday the 5th at 10:00 p.m. at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, while on Tuesday the 10th will host Colombia at 9:00 p.m. at the Estadio Más Monumental.

Once these matches are played,  only two more rounds will remain in September, with Venezuela at home and Ecuador away.
