ANMAT prohibited spirals and tablets for mosquitoes due to lack of health authorization.

The ANMAT prohibited the manufacture, marketing, and distribution of various mosquito coils, thermoevaporative tablets, and domestic cleaning products that were sold without a valid national authorization.

The measure was officially announced this Thursday through Disposición 2864/2026 published in the Official Gazette, after the agency detected the irregular sale of these items on websites and digital platforms.

What ANMAT detected during the investigation

According to the agency, the actions began after inspection tasks carried out by the Domestic Products Service. There, the marketing of products without sanitary registration or valid authorization was verified.

Among the observed items were mosquito coils, liquid insecticides, repellent tablets, disinfectants, cleaners, and other household products.

ANMAT explained that these products were promoted through websites and online sales channels without having enabling controls, which prevents guaranteeing adequate conditions of safety, manufacturing, and effectiveness.

The company lost its authorization in 2024

Another point that raised alarms was that the company linked to the marketing had lost its authorization as a manufacturer during 2024.

Additionally, according to the official disposition, the company did not respond to notifications sent by the national health authority.

In light of this situation, the agency moved forward with a total prohibition on marketing throughout Argentine territory.

Which products were prohibited nationwide

The measure affects various domestic cleaning products sold without valid sanitary authorization.

• Mosquito coils

• Thermoevaporative tablets

• Liquid insecticides

Furthermore, ANMAT restricted two aerosols with provincial registration, which can only be marketed within the province of Buenos Aires and were excluded from the national circuit.

They also prohibited cleaning products and air fresheners

In parallel, the agency took action against various cleaning products that were also marketed without valid sanitary registration.

These include detergents, liquid laundry soaps, multipurpose cleaners, and air fresheners offered through social media and websites.

One of the highlighted cases corresponds to items from the brand “Re! Refillería Botánica”, covered by Disposición 2863/2026.

According to ANMAT, these products “are not registered” and were sold with distribution throughout the country despite lacking official authorization.

ANMAT also restricted products for cars

Another recent disposition was 2794/2026, which prohibited various products intended for the care and cleaning of vehicles.

These include waxes, detergents, and polishers from brands such as Rino Car Products, AMSPRO, and Cars Willis.

The agency stated that these were items of “dubious legitimacy” or directly without valid registration, which prevents verifying composition, manufacturing conditions, and safety levels.
