Driven by a record of over 17.8 million passengers, USD 85 million will be invested to expand spaces, incorporate cutting-edge technology, and enhance the travel experience.
Argentina has moved past stagnation, under the management of Javier Milei, to achieve a record number of passengers and an expansion of operations that today require world-class infrastructure. In this context of growing demand and the arrival of new airlines, Aeropuertos Argentinahas launched the second phase of its comprehensive works plan, after successfully completing a first phase that already expanded the North Platform, the Domestic Inspection and Registration Point (PIR), and the Check-in Hall.
The magnitude of the growth is undeniable: in 2025, the airport recorded a total of 17,812,311 passengers (5,265,159 international and 12,547,152 domestic). Only in the first quarter of this year, the figure already reaches 5,898,525 passengers, maintaining a daily average of 409 flights, with peaks reaching 440 operations per day. Federico Laborde, general manager of the Central business unit, highlighted the strategic vision of the terminal:
The president, Javier Milei.
“Aeroparque is a terminal in constant evolution. We seek to adequately respond to a growing demand for operations year after year while continuing to surprise and exceed our passengers' expectations”.
The investment of USD 85 million will translate into a cutting-edge technological and spatial transformation. The incorporation of state-of-the-art technology will allow for substantial time savings for users: up to a 26% reduction in check-in lines and a 33% reduction in the PIR. In the area of domestic pre-boarding, 2,800 m2 will be intervened and an additional 400 m2 will be expanded, adding 1,960 m2 of new commercial spaces, including the Amae Lounge of 700 m2 and the Shop Gallery of 400 m2.
Meanwhile, the international boarding sector will undergo an expansion of 1,000 m2 over a total area of 9,300 m2 being intervened. This space will feature 5,050 m2 of commercial spaces, an extended Duty Free, and an exclusive VIP Lounge with river views. In terms of security and migratory agility, the areas of PSA (Airport Security Police) and Immigration will expand to 2,310 m2, incorporating a new core of Remote Arrivals and Departures and more space for Flex boarding.

Excellence will also reach the gastronomic offer, with the opening of Bis Café, by the prestigious chef Gonzalo Aramburu —the only Argentine with two Michelin stars— and a new restaurant from the Outback Steakhouse chain, scheduled for November of this year. Additionally, the “I Love Traveling” program will add specialized assistance for elderly adults, women in lactation, and individuals with specific medical requirements.
Finally, to ensure operational safety in light of the new historical highs expected for the winter holidays to destinations such as Bariloche, São Paulo, Chile, or Rio de Janeiro, preventive maintenance of the runway will be carried out. For this reason, operations will be temporarily suspended from Tuesday, August 25 at noon until the afternoon of Thursday, August 27. During this brief period, coordinated with ORSNA, the 300 scheduled international flights and approximately 300 domestic flights will be moved to Ezeiza Airport, ensuring that the pace of the air revolution does not stop.
