Argentina National Team defined its base for the group stage of the 2026 World Cup

With the countdown to the 2026 World Cup underway, the Argentina national team has already defined one of the key aspects of its planning off the field:where it will live and train during the group stage. With the approval of FIFA, the Albiceleste delegation chose Kansas City as its operational base in United States.

The decision is directly linked to the schedule. Argentina will make its debut on June 16 against Algeria at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, then it will play on the 22nd against Austria at AT&T Stadium in Dallas and it will close Group J on the 27th, again in Kansas City, against Jordan. That logistics tipped the balance for Lionel Scaloni's team to settle in the city of Missouri.

The chosen place for training will be the Compass Minerals National Performance Center, a complex belonging to Sporting Kansas City of MLS. Inaugurated in 2017, it is considered a world-class facility and it brings together top-level sports, medical, and technological infrastructure.

The complex has three natural grass fieldes and another two synthetic grass fieldes with LED lighting, in addition to a two-story pavilion with classrooms, video rooms, observation platforms, and spaces intended for the coaching staff's tactical work.

One of the center's strengths is its sports performance laboratory, which includes areas of neuropsychology, cryotherapy, hyperbaric chambers, recovery rooms, a high-performance gym, and a complete medical center in conjunction with Children’s Mercy and U.S. Soccer. The entire complex is designed to optimize the players' physical preparation and recovery during a tournament of maximum demands.

Regarding accommodation, the Argentine delegation will stay at Hotel Origin, located in the city center. FIFA identified the establishment as one of the best options for national teams during the World Cup and it will be fully reserved for Argentina between June and July 21, 2026. It is located about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the training center and slightly less from the international airport.

Kansas City will also be a city with a strong World Cup presence. England will be based at Swope Soccer Village, Netherlands will do so at the Kansas City Current facilities, and Algeria, Argentina's opponent in the debut, will set up its camp at Rock Chalk Park.

Meanwhile, as Lionel Scaloni defines the final squad list and the football roadmap, Argentina already knows where it will begin to dream of the title defense, with all the comforts of a base designed to compete at the highest level.
