The Argentine automotive market has added a new player in the electric vehicle segment. The Chinese brandJMEV has officially entered the country through Grupo Antelo.
The major news is the launch of the JMEV Easy 3, which is positioned as the most affordable electric car in Argentina. This city car, imported from China, aims to compete with models such as the Renault Kwid E-Tech and the BYD Dolphin Mini.

What the new JMEV Easy 3 is like
The Easy 3 measures 3.72 meters (12 feet 2.6 inches) long, 1.64 meters (5 feet 4.6 inches) wide, and 1.53 meters (5 feet 0.2 inches) high, with a wheelbase of 2.39 meters (7 feet 10.1 inches). Its compact design places it within the A segment, ideal for the city. It features halogen headlights with LED DRL, rear fog lights, LED stop light, and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, it includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Mirror Link connection via Bluetooth, 360° camera, and multifunction steering wheel adjustable for height. The seats, upholstered in fabric, offer manual adjustment in four positions and integrated headrests.
Engine, range, and safety
The Easy 3 uses an electric motor with 68 horsepower (hp) and 125 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 30.24 kWh battery that provides an approximate range of 330 kilometers (205 miles). Charging is done through a slow-charging alternating current system.

In terms of safety, it is equipped with two airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, stability control, electronic parking brake, and tire pressure monitoring. It also includes hill start assist, pedestrian alert, rear parking radar, 360° camera, and automatic shut-off in case of collision.
Price, warranty, and competitors
The new JMEV Easy 3 is sold in Argentina at a price of 18,900 dollars, making it the cheapest electric vehicle. The warranty is three years or 100,000 km (62,137 miles) for the car and eight years or 120,000 km (74,564 miles) for the battery.

Its main competitors include the Renault Kwid E-Tech at $31,030,000, and the BYD Dolphin Mini GL, priced at 22,990 dollars. This way, the Easy 3 seeks to attract consumers looking to switch to electric mobility without spending large sums.
