Argentine talent excelled once again on the international stage thanks to young Agustín Martínez Haarth, a native of General Alvear, who, together with his team from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), was crowned world champion at the prestigious international competition CanSat 2025, organized by NASA in Virginia, United States.
The competition, promoted by the American Astronautical Society (AAS), is one of the most demanding in the world in the field of aerospace engineering and is supported by top-tier institutions such as Lockheed Martin, Siemens, the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, and the U.S. space agency itself.
In this contest, participating teams must design, build, and launch a CANSAT: a small satellite contained in a can that must be launched by a rocket and then descend in a controlled manner, simulating a real space mission.

The Argentine team excelled in every stage of the challenge, standing out both in the engineering of the project and in its execution, and upholding the prestige of national scientific and technological education. The victory represents not only an academic achievement but also a symbol of what Argentine youth can accomplish through dedication, effort, and passion.
