The dispute over the future of Julián Álvarez has taken a new turn and now directly involves Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, FIFA, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). According to Mundo Deportivo, the international body and the Spanish federation notified the Catalan club following the complaint filed by the Madrid institution.
Atlético de Madrid accuses Barcelona of having pressured the Argentine footballer and maintaining direct contact with him without the authorization of the rojiblanco club, despite the forward having a contractual link in effect until June 2030.
Following this submission, the RFEF will soon communicate to Barcelona the deadline established for them to present their arguments and state their version of events.
Within the azulgrana environment, they believe that Atlético de Madrid's claim should not succeed. The club's position is based on public statements made by Julián Álvarez himself, who on June 22 expressed his intention to leave the Madrid institution while participating in the World Cup.
