In the 2025 season, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner not only dominated the tour in sporting terms, but they also excelled on the economic front. The Spaniard established himself as the player who accumulated the most prize money in the year and positioned himself, at just 22 years old, among the five tennis players with the highest earnings in history.
According to the recent annual report by the ATP, Alcaraz pocketed $21,354,778 in performance prize money, an unprecedented figure for players born from 2000 onward and only surpassed in the historical record by 2015 Djokovic. His year included titles at Roland Garros and the US Open, three Masters 1000, three ATP 500, and the Wimbledon final lost to Sinner, which ultimately confirmed his absolute leadership by finishing as number one in the ATP rankings. Thanks to this season, he surpassed $60 million accumulated in his career, a threshold above which only Novak Djokovic ($191,252,375), Rafael Nadal ($134,594,100), Roger Federer ($130,594,339), and Andy Murray ($64,687,542) stand.
In this season, Sinner closely followed him with $19,120,641 earned, despite having been absent from several tournaments due to a doping sanction. His campaign was equally remarkable: he won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, lost the other two Grand Slam finals to Alcaraz, and added the Paris Masters 1000, ATP Finals, and two ATP 500. He is the only player who has surpassed $19 million in two different seasons.
