Ayrton Costa might not go to the Club World Cup with Boca due to a visa issue.
The Xeneize player was denied permission to enter U.S. soil due to a previous criminal case
Since the arrival of Ayrton Costa, the club was aware that an issue might arise, although they were confident they could solve it. However, just over a month before the start of the Club World Cup, the player still hasn't obtained the Visa to enter the United States due to an ongoing probation in the Justice system.
The Xeneize now places its hopes on FIFA's intervention so that the defender can participate in the international tournament.
Boca keeps a certain degree of optimism, but they understand that the resolution is beyond their control. They depend on the management of third parties, as on one hand there is the influence that the entity led by Gianni Infantino might have and on the other the final decision of the U.S. immigration authorities.

The legal case complicating the player's situation is labeled as "qualified robbery in a populated area and in a group." The incident occurred in June 2018, when the defender, his brother, and another person were accused of breaking into a house in Bernal Oeste to steal.
They were intercepted by the Police without being armed, and since the stolen items were recovered, they were not detained. Later, the defender agreed to a probation to avoid going to trial.
At the end of 2024, when he applied for the Visa to enter the U.S. for the first time, it was rejected for this same reason. This year he made a new attempt, but the response was again negative, seriously complicating his availability for the renewed world tournament that will begin in mid-June.

With no room to change the decision of the U.S. Embassy, Boca now clings to a possible intervention by FIFA.
The hope is that, since it is a specific permit for a specific and short-duration event, U.S. authorities might consider an exception that allows Ayrton Costa to play in the Club World Cup.
