Despite the joy of qualifying for a new final, the victory against Rosario Central left a very negative balance for River. After the medical examinations conducted this Sunday, the club confirmed the injuries of Sebastián Driussi, Aníbal Moreno, and Gonzalo Montiel, three important players for the team who have been ruled out for the grand final of the 2026 Apertura Tournament in Córdoba and the remainder of the first semester.
The images had already anticipated a worrying scenario. Both Driussi and Moreno left the field in tears and with medical assistance, visibly affected by discomfort in their knees. Ultimately, the tests determined that both suffered a sprain in the right medial collateral ligament, injuries that will require between three and four weeks of recovery.
The most significant loss for the Núñez team is Driussi, who was experiencing one of his best moments since returning to the club. The forward is the team's top scorer this season with seven goals and had been one of the main offensive options for the team coached by Eduardo Coudet.

Additionally, the attacker suffered another physical setback in a year marked by injuries. In February, he had suffered a hamstring tear in his left leg that kept him out of three matches, while weeks later he suffered another tear, this time in the right hamstring, during the Superclásico against Boca.
For his part, Aníbal Moreno was also automatically ruled out of the final, and his injury comes at an inopportune time. The midfielder was included in Lionel Scaloni's preliminary list of 55 players for the 2026 World Cup, but this new physical problem practically leaves him with no chance of making the final squad.

Meanwhile, Gonzalo Montiel suffered a tear in his left quadriceps and will have a recovery period of approximately three weeks, also being ruled out for the decisive match against Argentinos Juniors or Belgrano.
