When it seemed that the transfer market was already closed for Boca, the management decided to push for a last-minute reinforcement. After finalizing the departure of Kevin Zenón for 4.8 million dollars to Atlas de México, the Xeneize presented a bid for Matías Galarza, a midfielder from Talleres.

The departure of the player from Corrientes changed the plans of the coaching staff led by Rodolfo Arruabarrena, who lost a player that usually came off the bench and now aims to add a new alternative for the midfield. In this context, the club from La Ribera offered 4 million dollars for 80% of Galarza's economic rights. The proposal is already in the hands of Talleres and negotiations are progressing quickly, as the extraordinary period for signing players, enabled by regulations due to the injury of Tomás Aranda, will end this Monday.

Although Galarza has different characteristics than Zenón, his profile is favored by the coaching staff and would allow for more options in a zone that currently includes Leandro Paredes, Santiago Ascacibar, Milton Delgado, Tomás Belmonte, and Williams Alarcón.

The interest in the player is not new. During 2024, when he still belonged to Genk in Belgium, Boca had already attempted to sign him with a 3 million dollar offer for 50% of his rights. The European club deemed that proposal insufficient and ultimately Talleres acquired the midfielder's rights.

Now, the management has returned with a higher offer and intends to finalize the deal before the market closes. The goal is to provide Arruabarrena with a new piece to cover Zenón's departure and maintain internal competition in the midfield.

Galarza's numbers at Talleres

Since his arrival at Talleres in mid-2024, the player from Boulogne Sur Mer has played 4,935 minutes, spread over 68 matches, in which he scored 1 goal, provided 1 assist, and received 14 yellow cards and 1 red card for double booking.
