During the presentation of LPF Play, Pablo Aimar said that they do not know where the match against Spain will be hosted, but they were categorical about the conditions of the place where it will be played
Aimar also referred to the selection process for the 2026 World Cup, where Argentina will seek to defend the title won in Qatar 2022. With caution, he avoided projecting himself too much over time: “It's still missing, there are games, leagues and a lot of issues that are happening minute by minute in football
Less than three weeks before the Final between the Argentine National Team and Spain, the venue of the match is still shrouded in uncertainty. The match was scheduled for March 27 at the Lusail stadium in Qatar, but the security situation in the Middle East opened the debate about a possible relocation
.While organizers and leaders evaluate the picture, the Argentine coaching staff made it clear what their priority is. Pablo Aimar, Lionel Scaloni's field assistant, was consulted on the subject and did not hesitate to make his mark. “We don't know yet. We prefer to play where it's safe,” he said in a dialogue with Cadena 3 during the presentation of LPF
Play.
The former River midfielder also stressed the importance of the game from a sporting point of view, as he will face two of the strongest teams of the moment. “It's a very nice measure,” he said in reference to the duel against the Spanish team
While waiting for official confirmation, the idea is growing on the side of the Europeans that the match will ultimately not be held in Qatar. The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, acknowledged that the organization is going through a complex scenario and that the decision will be
taken shortly.
"That's very difficult. We canceled two charters four days ago. We are monitoring the situation. We are at the expense of the decision being made in the next 48 hours. “, explained the leader, who also stressed that there are commercial commitments and agreements signed with UEFA and CONMEBOL
.“I hope this is a reasonable decision and one that is well regarded by the vast majority. These countries deserve respect from us, for example, we have a contract with Saudi Arabia until 2029. There is a lot at stake,” he added.
