What happens if compared to April?
In April, 158,960 transfers were recorded, so May saw a slight drop of 2.6%. Nevertheless, the annual cumulative figure shows a very positive scenario.
Between January and May, 775,213 used cars were sold, which implies a year-on-year increase of 25.95%.
What is driving the used car boom?
CCA states that the market remains stable due to several economic and social factors. According to Alejandro Lamas, the entity's secretary, access to personal savings without so many restrictions helped boost demand.

The following factors also played a role:
The ongoing economic deregulation.
The recovery of wages measured in dollars.
A wide range of financing options, although rates remain high.
The country's interior sets the pace
The northern provinces of Argentina experienced the most growth. La Rioja saw an increase of 62%, followed by Jujuy (59%), Chaco (58%), and Formosa (58%).

Meanwhile, Buenos Aires and CABA, which have historically concentrated 50% of the market, showed more moderate increases: 21.5% and 13%, respectively.
Expectations for the rest of the year
The Automotive Trade Chamber remains optimistic for the second half of the year. "We're reaching the middle of the year with expectations intact," said Lamas.
If the current pace continues, the market could close 2025 with figures well above those recorded in recent years.
