The Ministry of National Security, under the leadership of  Patricia Bullrich, carried out this Friday the destruction of more than 1,800 kilograms (3,968 pounds) of narcoticsseized during various operations against drug trafficking. The incineration took place at the hazardous waste treatment plant of Grupo Pelco, located in El Talar, Pacheco, with the presence of the minister and national deputy José Luis Espert.

The procedure was executed in accordance with a court order and under the strict supervision of the Ministry of Security, as part of a policy aimed at preventing seized drugs from returning to the criminal circuit. The delivery and transportation of the material were carried out by federal forces, complying with the legal protocols established for this type of operation.

During the event, Bullrich emphasized the strategic significance of incinerating the drugs, "it is a relevant action to provide guarantees to the population that this material doesn't return to the illegal circuit, but is eliminated definitively", stated the minister.

She called for strengthening public trust in the state's response: "The population needs to know that when they call 134, this procedure will have a good outcome, because it is in the hands of the federal forces. That is trust".

She also explained how many of the procedures carried out by the security forces originate, highlighting the value of citizen contributions through reporting channels: "These procedures are carried out by the federal forces in replacement or, based on the reports we receive through different means, through the work that is done and also through 134".

Bullrich took the opportunity to provide an overview of the management during the current year, underscoring the intensity of the operations and the results achieved: "We had the best numbers in drug seizures in 2024 and also in productivity, in quantity, in procedures, in the number of detainees".

Meanwhile, she also emphasized that "The number of procedures with the number of detainees is a high number. One detainee per procedure is a very, very important number. These 1,400 procedures we have carried out this year have removed 1,400 bunkers or delivery points or houses that people go to and provide us with information, and they have been removed from there".

In line with the security policy promoted by President Javier Milei, the minister reaffirmed the chosen course: "The national government of President Milei is not compatible with drug bunkers. We attack each one, dismantle it, and go with full force so that all Argentine families feel freer".

The day is part of an approach that prioritizes the dismantling of drug structures, the increase in security operations, and the effective use of state tools, with direct political support and an emphasis on regaining territorial control in the face of organized crime.
