La Calera: Former sergeant barricaded himself and fired at police officers after a complaint
It happened this Friday morning. The man threatened his partner and resisted arrest with a firearm
A high-tension episode was reported this Friday in La Calera, Córdoba, when a former police sergeant locked himself in his house after being reported. The police intervention was prompted by an accusation of domestic violence. The man fired at the officers who were trying to arrest him.
The entire incident took place in a house located on Río Reconquista Street at 1300, around 10 a.m. Upon arrival, the uniformed officers attempted to arrest him, but the man reacted violently. The former sergeant grabbed his partner by the neck, who was later released.

Immediately afterward, the accused barricaded himself inside the residence and drew a 9-millimeter caliber firearm. From there, he fired several shots at the officers who were outside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Special intervention and arrest
Given the seriousness of the incident, the ETER tactical group was called in to intervene in the operation. For three hours, a perimeter was established at the scene while attempts were made to persuade the man. The police recommended avoiding the area for safety reasons.
Finally, the former sergeant was subdued without further gunfire or injuries. He was then taken into custody by the special agents. "Support from ETER officers was requested," authorities confirmed.

The judiciary has launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the episode. The use of the firearm and the context of the complaint that triggered the operation will be evaluated. The accused remains at the disposal of judicial authorities.
