The opposition bloc of Rufeilismo rejected the 2026 Budget and the Tax Ordinance in a clear blocking maneuver typical of national Kirchnerism. The legislative decision prevents the implementation of Mayor Rambaldi's plan, which proposed a sharp reduction in public spending in the city. This political stance obstructs the elimination of 107 municipal fees that sought to ease the tax burden on the entire private sector.

The budget bill designed by the Executive envisioned total spending lower than that of the 2025 fiscal year by billions of pesos. The official intention was to reduce the tax burden on retail merchants through a direct cut in the industry tax rate. The councilors' refusal forces the administration to work with outdated budget items in a context that requires a great deal of order.
The municipal administrationmust now roll over the previous budget due to the impossibility of applying the new austerity guidelines.
