Capcom reached the highest video game sales volume in its history and consolidated another record year driven by the success of Resident Evil Requiem and the launch of Pragmata, two titles that propelled the growth of the Japanese company in the global market.
According to the financial results published by the company, Capcom sold 59.07 million video games during the last fiscal year ending March 31, far surpassing its previous record and achieving its ninth consecutive year of historic profits.
Resident Evil Requiem was a global phenomenon
The star of the year was Resident Evil Requiem, which managed to sell nearly seven million copies just weeks after its launch.
The new installment of the historic horror saga became the fastest-growing game in the 30-year history of Resident Evil, solidifying a franchise that remains one of the strongest in the entire industry.
The game also received excellent reviews from the specialized press and made a huge impact on both consoles and PC.

Pragmata also surprised the market
Another major success was Pragmata, Capcom's new science fiction project, which sold around two million copies in its first weeks.
The title was praised for:
its original proposal
the visual aspect
the narrative approach
the experimental mechanics
The strong performance of the game also confirmed Capcom's strategy of combining historic franchises with new intellectual properties.

The digital format dominates the business
One of the most notable data points from the report is the absolute growth of the digital market.
Capcom reported that:
93% of sales were digital
83.7% corresponded to existing games from the catalog
The company thus took advantage of the strong growth in online consumption and the ongoing sales of historic franchises such as:
Resident Evil
Monster Hunter
Devil May Cry
