The Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, used the video of the Kirchnerist journalist Ernesto Tenembaum, where the successful economic model of Hong Kong is discussed, to compare it with the initiatives of the Government of Javier Milei in Argentina and highlight the success of the pro-market reforms implemented in China.
During an event of the Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic, the official presented the case as an example of the policies that are also being implemented in the country.
Caputo referred to a conversation in which Tenembaum analyzed alongside Diego Iglesias the strong economic growth of China and sought to explain the reasons behind the country's transformation.
The Kirchnerist journalist, who mistakenly thought that the growth was a result of the socialist model, was debunked live and was taught about the pro-market measures adopted in the Asian country to generate economic growth and development.

“What we are doing was very well explained yesterday, although using another example, by a Kirchnerist journalist who was in China,” Caputo stated during his presentation.
Then, the minister made a direct comparison between the process described in the program and Milei's economic program. “If you change the name of the city to Argentina, you will see that the explanation given is perfect,” he asserted.
Next, Caputo showed the video to the attendees at the event. The clip displayed the analysis of the economic transformations implemented in cities like Hong Kong, and later throughout China, the opening up, the functioning of a market economy, the lowering of taxes, and deregulation.

After playing the material, the minister added: “The only thing I would add to what he said is that this worked in China and in any country that has done it. And that is what we are doing here.”
In this way, Caputo used the Chinese case to highlight the measures adopted by Milei's Government and stated that the economic program follows a path that has already demonstrated successful results in various places around the world.
“We are simply applying what we know has worked everywhere in the world,” the minister assured, emphasizing that the reforms promoted by the current administration are part of an economic scheme proven in numerous countries.
The official also stressed the time required for a transformation of this magnitude. In this regard, he warned that the process developed in China did not happen immediately. “I would also add that this transformation in China did not occur in 2 and a half years. It is a process that takes time,” he explained.
The minister's reference came in a context where he sought to vindicate the pro-market reforms and establish a link between the measures applied in China and the economic program carried out by the libertarian administration.
