The seven finalists for the 2026 Car of the Year in Argentina have already been selected, one of the most highly valued awards in the local industry. The award recognizes the most outstanding vehicles launched in the country during the last year.
This is the sixth edition of the award at the national level, which is granted by a jury made up of specialized journalists with extensive experience in car testing and analysis.

The selected models represent different segments of the market, from SUVs to pickups and compact cars, reflecting the diversity of offerings that arrived in the country.

What requirements the participating cars had to meet
To be part of the selection, the vehicles had to have been introduced to the Argentine market between January 1 and December 31, 2025. In addition, it was mandatory to have at least one version with a retail price, with pre-sales being excluded.
Another key requirement was to have an estimated minimum annual production of 5,000 units. Restylings, name changes, new versions, and powertrains of already existing models were not considered.

Who are the members of the Car of the Year jury
The jury is made up of renowned journalists from the automotive sector:
Matías Antico, Augusto Brugo Marcó, Gabriel Silveira, Martín Simacourbe, Eduardo Smok, Gabriel Tomich, and Guido Tonelli.
In this edition, José Luis Denari and Walter Togneri joined as guest members.
Each juror has 25 points to distribute among the seven finalists, with a maximum of 10 points per model. The voting is based on real-world tests, analysis of equipment, design, innovation, quality, and dynamic behavior.
How the Car of the Year award is organized
The award is organized by Grupo Premia, a non-profit entity made up of specialized journalists. The evaluation is carried out independently, after driving hundreds of kilometers with each vehicle.
