The information about the marriage proposal had leaked on the show Intrusos, where journalist Paula Varela reported that Cvitanich allegedly proposed to Figueiras during a night that began with a supposed argument in a restaurant. According to that version, Ivana would have asked Darío for his phone and checked it, which led to an exchange between them. It was later indicated that there was a family issue behind the episode.

Ivana Figueiras herself came out to clarify the situation: she confirmed that she indeed received the marriage proposal but denied part of the version that had circulated about that night. Thus, the engagement was solidified as a new step for the couple.
