Chicago needs Trump: 7 murders and 47 injuries were reported over the weekend

Security in the Windy City is truly chaotic, while Democratic leadership opposes Trump's intervention

The restoration of order and law in Chicago can't be delayed. City authorities reported today that at least seven murders and 47 injuries have been recorded as a result of various shootings that occurred over the weekend.

To make matters worse, the same local authorities confirmed to the press that they were unable to arrest any of those involved in these shootings. Despite this anarchy taking place in one of the country's most important urban centers, local political leadership still opposes federal intervention.

Last week, Trump suggested that the successful model of federal troop deployment that was tested in Washington D.C. should be replicated in cities like Chicago or New York, territories that Democrats control at the municipal level and that have become havens for crime.

Democrats protect crime.

Instead of working together with the White House, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order on Saturday that prevents the various city government departments from collaborating with federal forces in the event that they are deployed. This means that neither local police nor state attorneys could provide assistance to curb crime.

According to the ultra-Democrat Johnson, Trump is acting outside the Constitution by ordering these interventions. The current mayor stated that the presidential order to militarize Chicago will arrive next week, which explains the timing of his decree that prohibits cooperation between the two levels of government.

The current governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, another staunch Democrat and anti-Trump figure, also opposed the idea of federal deployment. Both leaders ignore that, in 2023, Chicago reported 617 homicides that occurred throughout that year, a catastrophic figure when compared to the safety standards of American cities.

Meanwhile, the federalization of the U.S. capital is proving to be a complete success. Since Trump intervened two weeks ago, not a single homicide has been recorded, and both property crimes and overall crime have decreased by 46% and 21%, respectively.
