Trump says the next city he will intervene in to restore order is Chicago
After the successful federal intervention in Washington D.C., which has already resulted in more than a week without homicides, Trump now sets his sights on Chicago
President Donald Trump's administration will deepen its federal intervention campaign to improve the security of American cities with high levels of crime. The next city on the head of state's list will be Chicago, which has been dominated at the municipal level by Democrats for decades.
"Chicago is a disaster," Trump said, criticizing the level of incompetence displayed by the city's left-wing Democratic mayor, Brandon Johnson. "The people of Chicago are begging us to come. They're wearing red hats, like this one," said the Republican, referring to the "Trump was right about everything" hat he wore while giving the press conference in the Oval Office.
The president stated that even the African American population living in Chicago is asking him to intervene to stop the violence. "Beautiful African American women, beautiful women, are saying 'please, Mr. Trump, come to Chicago, please,'" the president declared.
Meanwhile, Trump has also shown willingness to help with security in New York, a city that is on the verge of electing the Muslim communist Zohran Mamdani as its new mayor, which would undoubtedly worsen the insecurity problem being experienced.

Chicago, a free zone for crime.
Although the Windy City has reported a lower number of violent crimes committed, it still can't eradicate the problem of violence at its root. In 2023, Chicago reported 617 homicides that occurred throughout that year, a figure that, while an improvement over the 715 murders reported in 2022, remains very high compared to the statistics of cities like New York or Los Angeles.
Earlier this month, 34 people were shot in Chicago—five of them fatally—in just one weekend. The spiral of violence has continued this week, with three people killed and one seriously injured in multiple shootings recorded in the city.
Meanwhile, the federalization of the U.S. capital promoted by the White House is proving to be a complete success. According to police data, there hasn't been a homicide in D.C. in more than a week, with property crimes and overall crime decreasing by 46% and 21% respectively.
