Rumors about the possible arrival of Mauro Icardi at River Plate resurfaced strongly in recent hours and, this time, it was China Suárez herself who spoke out on the matter.
The actress used her social media accounts to distance herself from the reports that directly involved her in a possible sporting decision by the footballer.
According to the analysis on Arriba Argentinos, Icardi's name began to be mentioned insistently in the River world after a supposed meeting between the forward and the club's president came to light, which allegedly took place in Puerto Madero.
The meeting, for which there is no official confirmation, caused a major stir both in the sports world and in the entertainment industry.
Mauro Icardi estaría decidido a volver a vivir en Argentina
In that context, Eugenia "La China" Suárez was mentioned as a key figure in the footballer's possible move to Argentina. However, the actress was blunt when she replied on X.
"That I 'gave the OK' for what? Hahaha. I don't get involved in my partner's career. I'm not his manager and I don't want to be", she wrote bluntly. She added: "I'm happy in Türkiye. Don't try to divert attention from what really matters. Kisses".
Suárez's statements came after journalist Gustavo Méndez claimed that there was a meeting between Icardi and River's president, information that was picked up and contextualized by Pablo Grabellone on the morning newscast.
"Since Icardi arrived in Argentina, the rumor that River might want him has exploded", the journalist explained, although he clarified that sources at the club deny any kind of contact or formal interest.
El tuit de la China Suárez
Grabellone also recalled that the forward still has six more months left on his contract in Türkiye, where he is one of Galatasaray's standout players, and he emphasized that he is "a top-level player," which inevitably fuels speculation every time his name is linked to Argentine football.
Meanwhile, although River sources insist that "there is nothing", in the entertainment world there is talk of an alleged desire by Icardi to settle in Argentina to be close to his daughters, a factor that also adds new chapters to the rumor. China Suárez's post on X, far from putting an end to the matter, ultimately gave even more visibility to a version that, for now, moves between official denials and strong leaks.
