Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Franco Mondino has charged former Secretary of Security and Community Prevention of Córdoba, Claudio Vignetta. The case investigates the purchase of 400 uniforms for the Urban Guard for nearly $99 million from a company with personal ties to an official. The charge adds to those against Walter Luján and Sebastián Aguilera, the first accused in the case.
The operation under suspicion was carried out in February 2024 in favor of the company Yche SA, based in La Calera and owned by former police officer Aguilera. The judiciary suspects there was a conflict of interest due to his relationship with Luján, then Undersecretary of Security. Both allegedly intervened in awarding the contract, which was later annulled by the Municipality.
The incompatibility lies in the lack of transparency in the process and the direct relationship between the involved parties. According to judicial sources, Vignetta signed resolutions that endorsed the purchase without noting the irregularities. The formal accusation falls under the crime of conducting business incompatible with public office.

The annulled purchase and subsequent savings
The municipality annulled the contract when the connection between those responsible and the supplier company became public. Subsequently, a new bidding process was opened in October 2024, in which the same order for uniforms was awarded for $55 million. The savings were close to 45% of the initial amount, which reinforces suspicions about the management of the funds.
