In just a few months, more than 25 coaches were dismissed amid pressure for results and an increasingly unstable atmosphere in Argentine clubs

Argentine football continues to confirm its reputation as one of the most hostile environments for coaches, where the patience of club management seems to have an immediate expiration date. In recent hours, Lucas Pusineri has ceased to be Atlético Tucumán's coach, joining a long list of those dismissed during 2024.
The club officially announced it with a statement on social media: "Atlético Tucumán announces that, by mutual agreement, Lucas Pusineri has ceased to be the First Division squad's head coach. We thank him and his coaching staff for the commitment and professionalism demonstrated during their time at our institution".

Immediately after confirming the separation, the Tucumán club announced the promotion of Hugo Colace, who until now was coaching the Reserve team, by decision of the Board of Directors.
However, it was not the only change. Just minutes later, Platense confirmed the departure of Kily González, who submitted his resignation after a tough defeat against Independiente. His tenure lasted only 14 matches and, according to reports, the club is already considering the return of the duo Favio Orsi - Sergio Gómez, who had coached Calamar until their triumph in the Apertura and who have not yet found a new club.

The 2024 Clausura Tournament is in its second half and has already produced several major headlines. With the fight for the title, qualification for international cups, and relegation at stake, the pressure on coaches has become unbearable.
During the first half of the year, 17 coaches left their positions. However, the second part of the year did not bring calm: as soon as the Clausura began, Diego Cocca left Talleres before making his debut and was replaced by Carlos Tevez. Shortly after, Alejandro Orfila was dismissed at Gimnasia after a series of poor results.
With the moves confirmed in recent weeks, the number of coaches who have left their positions in 2024 rises to 27 (two twice), a record for Argentine football in recent years. Among the most prominent names are Miguel Ángel Russo (x2), Cristian Fabbiani (x2), Fernando Gago, Pedro Troglio, Alexander Medina, and Facundo Sava, among others.
Meanwhile, only 8 clubs out of the 30 in the First Division have kept the same coach since last year: Eduardo Domínguez (Estudiantes), Gustavo Costas (Racing), Frank Kudelka (Huracán), Omar De Felippe (Central Córdoba), Marcelo Gallardo (River), Alfredo Berti (Independiente Rivadavia), Rubén Insúa (Barracas Central), and Ariel Holan (Rosario Central).

The data reflects a structural trend: in Argentine football, the continuity of coaching projects remains the exception rather than the rule. Meanwhile, the Clausura continues with more uncertainties than certainties, and a widespread sense that the next to fall could be anyone.
