Headache for Gallardo: Driussi could miss the Superclásico due to injury

The second stint of Sebastián Driussi at River is far from what he had imagined. After an inconsistent start to the year, the forward had managed to establish himself as a key figure and a crucial part of the attack, but physical problems have once again gotten in his way. In the Copa Argentina match against Independiente Rivadavia, the striker had to be substituted in the first half and alarms went off once again in Núñez.

The official medical report confirmed what was feared: muscle strain in the left hamstring, the same area where just a month ago he had suffered a tear. Initially, it was believed to be just an overload, but tests determined that the player aggravated his previous injury, which will keep him off the field for two to three weeks.

The news comes at a crucial moment for Marcelo Gallardo's team, which is entering the decisive stage of the 2025 Torneo Clausura. Driussi will miss the next match against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, and his presence in the Superclásico against Boca, scheduled for the following weekend, seems practically ruled out.

Since his return to the club, the "Gordo" has missed 18 matches due to various injuries, in addition to one match in which he was not drafted due to physical conditioning. Despite the setbacks, he had managed to find the net again and regain prominence in the team's offensive scheme.
