The Mexican Grand Prix left a bittersweet taste for Franco Colapinto, who finished in 16th position at the wheel of his A525. In a difficult race, marked by the car's lack of competitiveness and several incidents on track, the Argentine driver managed to cross the checkered flag but without any chance of entering the points zone.
From the start, the day was an uphill battle. Colapinto was hit by Lance Stroll in the opening meters, which caused him to spin and quickly lose positions.
From that point on, his strategy focused on completing the long stint on hard tires, the same ones he started with. Only on lap 50 did he pit to switch to softs, with which he was able to improve his pace in the final stretch.
After the race, the driver could not hide his frustration. "I did 50 laps dragging myself, with no grip at all. Afterwards, with the softs I was fine, but it was too late. It was a race without much pace and very long for us, as a team we had no pace and it was very tough for us, so we have to work for the next one," Colapinto said in conversation with Juan Fossaroli.
