Colapinto wants to leave behind the poor results from Austria and is already looking forward to Silverstone

The Argentine driver faces Alpine's home event in Great Britain with excitement after a challenging weekend at the Red Bull Ring

After a challenging weekend in Austria,  Franco Colapinto is enthusiastically preparing to compete in the British Grand Prix, a special event as it takes place near the Alpine factory, his current team.

Colapinto arrives at the 12th round of the 2025 season determined to put behind him the Sunday at the Red Bull Ring, where he finished 15th after suffering contact with another car, balance issues, and a penalty for dangerous driving.

Despite the poor result, the Argentine highlighted some positives: "The weekend in Austria was challenging. We took some positive steps between practice and qualifying, but the parity on the grid is enormous and every detail matters. Missing out on Q2 by such a small margin was frustrating," he acknowledged.

The native of Pilar will now face Silverstone, a circuit where last year he had his first official F1 experience during a free practice session with Williams. In that context, he commented: "I'm really looking forward to getting out on track at Silverstone, where last year I had my first participation in a Grand Prix during Free Practice 1. It's a very renowned circuit on the Formula 1 calendar, and I'm sure all the drivers look forward to it with excitement because of its high speeds and iconic corners."

He also referred to the proximity to Alpine's workplace: "It's a home race for the team, with the factory right next door in Enstone, so it's nice to be able to spend some time there with the team between the two consecutive rounds," Colapinto said.

"We're focused on going race by race and on continuing to work together to improve every weekend," the Argentine concluded.

Gasly also wants to bounce back

Alpine arrives eager to improve after a tough Sunday in Austria. Pierre Gasly managed to reach Q3 on Saturday, but then lost pace in the race. "The race in Austria was very frustrating for the whole team. We have a lot to analyze, but the positive was our pace in qualifying," he explained.

Looking ahead to Silverstone, Gasly expressed his enthusiasm: "It's the home race for Enstone, with a huge crowd. Corners like Copse, Maggotts, Becketts, and Stowe make it one of my favorite circuits. I know many team members will be in the stands, and I'd like to reward them with a good performance."
