The Argentine driver finished 17th in Italy and did not hide his frustration with the team's poor performance

Franco Colapinto once again suffered from the mechanical limitations of his single-seater in the Italian Grand Prix. The Argentine driver, who came close to the points zone, was unable to improve his pace after his pit stop and finished 17th, just behind his teammate Pierre Gasly.

In statements to the press after the Monza race, the native of Pilar did not hide his frustration with his inconsistent performance.

Colapinto described how difficult the race was, marked above all by the shortcomings of the A525: "Very long, very tough for us. We didn't have pace. Very much alone the whole race and without pace. With a bit of anger." "We couldn't do anything, a shame," he concluded.

The Argentine driver perfectly described Alpine's weekend, which never had real opportunities to get into the fight for points. Although both drivers from the French team came close to the Top 10, the pit stops condemned them to the last positions and the lack of power from the Renault engine did not allow them to recover at any time.

When does F1 return

The top category will have a two-week break and will resume activity between September 19 and 21 at the Azerbaijan GP. This circuit brings back good memories for Colapinto, since it was where he scored his first points as a Formula 1 driver last season with Williams thanks to his eighth place.
